She ran off. A minute later, my phone vibrated.
"Storage room by the main hall. Please."
I shouldn't have gone. I knew it with every cell of my body. But my feet carried me down the corridor on their own.
He was waiting in the dim light, in a perfect groom's suit, with eyes full of desperation.
"I can't do this," he said the moment I closed the door.
