The plan was simple. David had a weekly poker night with his friends at a bar downtown. Alexis would be there, alone, vulnerable. The perfect target.

She approached him at the bar. Smiled. Asked if the seat next to him was taken. He said no. They talked. She laughed at his jokes, touched his arm, leaned in close.
He was polite. Friendly. But distant. After twenty minutes, he excused himself and went back to his friends.
